I Just Couldn’t Resist

Posted on

I know…I know…I gave in! I just had to feel my hair straight! Although everyone loves my pincurl set, I just had to do it for me! I flat ironed my hair people (sigh) I know the weather is suppose to be hot and muggy, but I just had to get it out of my system! I took before and after photos. I incorporated my husband as well. lol If you look on the first photo, you can see all that new growth! You can also see where my relax ends are. I told my husband if I go ahead and cut my relax ends off, I’d be all natural….his response? “Well, you’re not cutting off your relaxed ends!” So….the transition continues…

My husband is showing you my longest piece of hair before I flat iron. This is blow-dried hair, again, you can clearly see the newgrowth!

I finished flat-ironing the back and wa-lah!

Isn’t it just amazing how much your natural hair shrinks! Then along came the flat iron! This is one of the reasons why I am able to transition as long as I am, when you want it straight, just flat iron it! (using protection of course)

Trying to get better at straightening those edges and roots….

Decided to add a few curls with about 8 flexi rods

I am very pleased with the outcome, hair is getting thicker, so soft, and has body. No need to trim this time either. I am not sure if I will get to wear it down this weekend, but oh well, the journey continues…………….

Flat Ironing 101

Again, I mentioned that I may be flat-ironing this weekend, so I went browsing the youtube channels for some tips. Check out Nina Pruitt’s youtube video on properly flatironing transitioning hair. Enjoy!

Just Checking In

Hey everyone! I know it’s been a minute, but unfortunately we’ve suffered a lost in the family, and I have been very busy. God will give us the strength to go on I’m sure of it. I do believe in my last post, I mentioned I was on a no heat challenge until September. Well…..thank goodness for the freedom to change our minds! lol I am getting bored with the pin curls. I get so many compliments though! My hair is getting fuller which gives the pincurl look that thickness I was looking for, but I’m tired of it, so I may flat iron this weekend. I will watch the weather though. So, how about you? How’s the hair journey going? I will do an up-to-date review on the Joico K-pak Color Therapy Reconstructive Oil that I’ve previously blogged about as well. Until then, happy healthy hair growing bloggers!

Hello All,
just wanted to share my wash day with you and let you witness all that I go thru on a typical wash day. I tried switching rooms to work on the lighting, but to no avail. Anyhow, hope you find it helpful. Enjoy!

Welcome You Guys!

Hi everyone, glad to see you made it over to the new blog page! As I become more organized, and as I try out new products, I will be posting more on the blog. I have been blessed to make 13 months post relaxer, (yay me!) and I am curious as to what the future holds for my hair. What styles will I perfect? How will I keep the moisture in my strands? It’s definitely going to be a journey! It’s so comforting to know you guys will be taking the journey with me. My goal is to reach MBL (midback length) so, this should be interesting! lol I will try to get more accurate when showing you guys my length checks. I won’t be doing the shirt off type check that you so frequently see on youtube! (just not for me) Maybe I will look into purchasing an actual length check t-shirt from one of the hair forums (k.i.s.s or hairlicious inc.) In the meantime, you’ll just have to take my word for it! Hey, I have no reason to lead you on! I know my blog seems a little on the “not finished” side, because…well, it’s not. I will be updating my blog, so bare with me. Look for videos to come as well. Until Next time you guys, happy blogging and again WELCOME BACK!
